Product details

MEM Samurai "WAIDO" is a wide leg, high waisted denim pant, with curved cuts on the sides. The waist rises above the naval area. The pants have side pockets, but not back pockets. Zipper is in the back, visible.

This garment is sewn from recycled denim (post consumer waste) and printed with ecological dyes in Helsinki. Because the main material is second hand jeans, each piece is a bit different. The item you will receive, will differ a bit from the one in the picture, but not significantly.

We will manufacture all pieces by order, so please allow us delivery time 2-4 weeks (sewing time) + shipping time. For faster delivery options, contact us.

Water footprint:
This garment saves water 20 400 liters per item, compared to a new piece manufactured from conventional virgin cotton.

Measurements in size Medium / EUR38:
Front height from pant waist to leg hem 117 cm.
Back height from pant waist to leg hem 118 cm.
Waist to crotch 46 cm.
Around the thigh 67 cm.
Around leg opening 72 cm.
Inner leg from crotch to leg hem 76 cm.
Hips 106 cm.

Our model is a size small / EUR36 and 178cm tall.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
All MEM Samurai clothes CAN be machine washed with max. 60 C° (US: warm water), but we recommend airing or freezing them (put in a plastic bag and keep in your freezer box for a few days) instead of machine water washing, to conserve water and energy. If machine washed, wash inside out. After wash, stretch back into shape and dry hanging. Do not tumble dry. Ironing from reverse side. If the clothes have stains, treat the stains locally (before machine wash), preferably with natural or organic stain removal techniques.

DESIGNER INFO:
MEM SAMURAI is the worlds most ecological clothing collection. The collection consists of 8 modern pieces that are suitable for everyday use. The inspiration for this collection comes from Japanese samurai. The cuts are modern, with a soft silhouette and clean Skandinavian styling. All MEM collection pieces are cut, printed and sewn in Helsinki. The main material of this collection is 100% used jeans (post consumer waste), so making each piece SAVES natural resources instead of consuming them. The material has been collected locally from Finnish consumers.

The designer, Paula Malleus is the 1st Master Seamstress in Finland focused entirely in recycle fashion. Her Remake EkoDesign atelier has operated in Helsinki since 2007. The main objective of the atelier work has been to introduce an entirely new, more ecological business model to clothing serial production.
