Freshmen had an incredible day of bonding with each other and their rebbeim on today's grade-wide trip! The exciting itinerary included paintball, biking, zip lining, sports, and a BBQ. It was the perfect way to solidify the sense of achdus among the grade.
Rabbi Kerner's Sophomore talmidim had a great time today on their Shiur trip, which included a hike and BBQ!
Talmidim in our Julius Wrubel Beis Medrash Katan program enjoyed an end-of-year Siyum and seudah this afternoon. This unique program, spearheaded by Rabbi Tanchum Cohen, provides qualified Seniors with an exceptionally intensive learning experience, thereby transitioning them into the world of Beis Medrash learning in which they will continue to thrive in Eretz Yisrael, at Yeshiva University, and other mekomos ha-Torah thereafter.
The program is generously sponsored by Deena and Harvey Wrubel, in memory of Harvey’s father, Julius Wrubel, for whom the program is named. Mr. Wrubel joined the JWBMK talmidim, as well as Rabbi Tanchum Cohen, Head of School Rabbi Joshua Kahn, and Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Michael Taubes, for their end-of-year siyum and seudah to commemorate his father’s yahrtzeit. #onlyatmta
Happening now in The Den: MTA Soccer Lions take on DRS in the Semi-Finals! Go 🦁!! #playlikealion
The MTA Mountain Lions combined hiking and history as they climbed Popolopen Torne in Harriman State Park. The Torne is famous for the monuments at its summit, erected in memory of U.S. Army soldiers who trained at West Point, just up the Hudson River. In fact, the cairn at the summit of Popolopen Torne is built of rocks which West Point cadets carried from the bottom of the gorge as part of their training. The hike began at Fort Montgomery, a Revolutionary War site that guarded the Hudson River to keep British ships from traveling up to Albany, and continued on across the Route 9W bridge over the Popolopen Gorge, and followed the trail up the gorge along the creek. Re-energized after a mid-hike BBQ, they scaled the rest of the Torne and reached the summit, enjoying 360 degree vistas of the Hudson River to the East, Bear Mountain to the South, and the West Point Military Preserve to the West and North, then hiked down to the bottom of the Torne and followed the gorge back to Fort Montgomery. #hikelikealion
Rabbi Schenker and his talmidim had a great time bonding today on their end-of-year shiur trip, which included golf lessons, softball, a BBQ, and shiur awards ceremony!
