Alex Gozblau was born in Italy. He currently lives and works in Porto, as an illustrator, author and graphic designer.
Since 1999, he has collaborated with Portuguese newspapers and magazines, such as Expresso, Jornal de Negócios, Público, Sábado, Livros, Ler, Ícon, Diário de Notícias, Visão, O Independente, among others. As an author, his books have been published by Caminho, Texto Editora, Gailivro, Assírio & Alvim, Abysmo, Pato Lógico, Alfaguara, Santillana, Tugaland and Meios Darte.
He also works as a graphic designer, doing theater and cinema posters, CD and book covers. Feltrinelli, Edições Asa, Editorial Caminho, Porto Editora, Fado Filmes, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Polvo, Quasi and teatromosca are among his clients. He was distinguished by Portugal’s Creative Club, Society for News Design (USA) and Society for News Design (Iberia). In 2009, Alex Gozblau won the Stuart Award for the best Portuguese Press Illustration.
