About

My shop is based on a special collection of images I shot around the world. All of them are limited editions.
Hi my name is Fabiola and I am a documentary photographer, I travel often finding relevant stories to tell. The prints you will find here are a special selection of art images I've gathered during my journeys. These are stories around the world under different subjects (series) you will find explained on the description of each photo.
You can inquire about different measurements and materials.

Where did your plastic go? - Monkey Bay in Thailand (Phi Phi islands) is a very touristy place where hundreds, or perhaps thousands of people come over everyday to visit with, of course, lots of plastic waste along.
.
It isn't clear where this bottle came from. Maybe it was thrown by someone, or forgotten just on the beach, but it isn't weird that monkeys steal stuff from people's backpacks when walking in sanctuaries or on beaches.
.
As a response to such actions from the monkeys, some people get scared or even angry at them, forgetting that we are the invading their home, so we should respect that home.

Caring for the animals should also mean that we don't want to bring more plastic with me to nature, because I want to protect them from pollution, because I'm the homo sapiens who has the brain to stop contaminating animal's habitat and destroying the environment.
.
Where will this bottle end up? We all know where.
.
This photo is part of a series called ‘Where did my plastic go’. That focuses on the damage that plastic pollution is creating in the nature and humans.
Please follow the hashtag #wheredidmyplasticgo and use it every time you post something related.

Three tourists take very enthusiastically as many photos as posible of ‘Wat Arun Temple’, just like everybody else do. I called this photo “Tourists attack”.
Not many people took the time to walk and enjoy of the place. Most of them took a photo or many and walk away. And this you can see reproduced everywhere else. That’s what inspired me to create this series back in 2016, an ongoing project of almost two years.
.
This photo is part of the series ‘Here but there’, and it’s the reflection of us as a society and the contradictions we live with. We travel far away, we visit new places and meet people, perhaps with some hope to share and enjoy. And yet, some of our attention is taken with connecting or trying to connect with those that aren’t present, or at least with the idea of them.

Where did your plastic go? Maybe some kids in Papua are bathing with it and using it as toys at this very moment.
.
This picture was captured in Kri Island, West Papua. She’s Vanessa, the daughter of one of the owners of the few (but fast-growing) guesthouses.
.
The trash that the islander families use is burned in their gardens or hills. Some trash like Vanessa’s “new toy”, arrived from another place. Some mornings you just wake up to see more floating objects on the horizon.

“Cellphones are the new cigarettes” is one of the photos of my exhibition called Here but There, and last night was the official opening. Here I’m doing the same thing the series is based on, but I promise I try to use my phone less and less 🙂
.
Check more info of the exhibition on the link in my profile. It’s opened until 31st October at @de_balie café, and featuring @frankarno (top left photo)
