About

Home textiles, interior decor, fabric and clogs with patterns by Swedish pattern designer Bärbel Dressler.

------

Bärbel Dressler is the designer behind Bear Bell Productions with a focus on creating pattern designs for home textiles, home decor, fashion and shoes. You can see some of her patterns on curtains, pillows and fabric by the yard as well as clogs, sandals and soon also on childrens apparel (to be launched in 2019).

Born and raised in Falkenberg on the west coast of Sweden a big source of inspiration comes from the ocean and beach life, but also from vintage textiles and motifs that she finds in museum archives and books. Today she works from her home studio in Vega, just south of Stockholm. Bärbel also does commission freelance graphic design as well as produces online courses where she teaches and shares all her knowledge about pattern design, illustration and markers.

Even the cut edges from updating my portfolio book makes a fun pattern!.⠀

Double tap if you love patterns too!
Pattern recolor frenzy! Completely new color palette for this oldie ”Auburn Alley”. Not so auburn any longer. ⠀
.⠀
Did you use any Pantone color of the year in your designs! Personality I felt that Ultra Violet was a bit difficult to work with. It didn’t really inspire me. But other violets and purples did. 😊
Hello November. Trying to find beauty in this quite beige and dark month.
.
I’ll soon start filming a new @skillshare course and I’m not spoiled with daylight and sunshine these days. Our lake is looking mysterious and beautiful in any weather though.
Pattern design that could’ve been inspired by my wreath in the previous post, but it was originally created a few years ago during a @skillshare workshop for @bonniechristine. I’ve reworked it since then, simplified, reduced number of motifs and colors and rearranged it in a halfdrop (my favorite layout) and added some texture. (Does this mean I’ve evolved? 😂)⠀
.⠀
Now I’m just waiting for the Bullfinch to show up (my favorite bird).
Two of my weekly goals are: No phone (I mean NO phone) and no working on Sundays..
.
It’s amazing how much more energy and enthusiasm it brings to not have the pressure of checking the status, emails, likes, comments, posts as soon as you’re a tiny vit bored or have a minute of waiting..
.
Yesterday I had so much done - rearranging my closet, decorating the porch - including taking a walk in our little forest to pick up the materials for this wreath and binding it. Yes, Christmas is going to be early this year.
.
I’m going to restrict my phone time even further!
.
As for not working on Sundays I failed. Made a to-do list as I forgot to do it on Friday and when I realized how much I have to do next week I had to do a few things.
.
How are you treating your phone time? Do you have restrictions too and how does it affect you?
I can’t decide whether Indian florals or Toile de Jouy pattern designs are the most fun to create. Luckily I don’t have to choose. ⠀
.😇⠀
If you want to learn how to make a Classic pattern design style too I have two courses on Skillshare on how to make my two favorite styles mentioned above. In the courses you’ll learn about the history behind the patterns, how they are composed, get lots of inspiration and a step by step guide to create your own classic pattern.⠀
.💠⠀
Through the link in my bio you can read more about Skillshare, these courses, watch the introduction videos and how to enroll. You’ll even get a free trial for two months!⠀
.👩🏼‍🎓⠀
Keep learning! 😘
